Company History

Planning Blox, LLC, was founded in 2013 with the goal of producing world class software for legal project management.

The founders of Planning Blox each have over 30 years of experience managing complex projects and software companies in the legal industry.

Planning Blox brings complex yet easy-to-use project management to all service industries. In the legal world, we eliminate the gap between traditional project management software and the realistic needs of lawyers and clients. Our product makes Legal Project Management easy, repeatable, and useful for any audience. Pricing of legal matters is simple to prepare yet allows for any type of alternative fee arrangement.

For consumers of legal services, particularly corporate legal departments, Planning Blox empowers users with the ability to solicit apples-to-apples bids from law firms, prepare predictive matter pricing based on assumptions, and collaborate with outside counsel throughout the matter.

Leadership Team

Louis Miller

Co-Founder

Louis is renowned for his technical knowledge of legal industry software and data. His 25+ years of experience in a variety of legal industry capacities is instrumental in delivering a practical yet deep product in Planning Blox.

Prior to co-founding Planning Blox, Louis led the implementation and support organisation for the industry’s first LPM solution, Thomson Reuters Engage. Prior to joining the Engage team, Louis consulted in corporate legal departments, law firms and other professional services organisations throughout North America and the UK on financial, operational and management processes.

Nathan Bowie

Co-Founder

Nathan is passionate about using his 25+ years of legal industry experience, coupled with consulting firm leadership roles, to deliver a world class project and resource management system.

Prior to co-founding Planning Blox, Nathan invented and managed the industry’s first Legal Project Management solution, Thomson Reuters Engage. While at Baker Robbins & Company for 17 years, Nathan led the company’s Enterprise Applications practice focused on financial and billing operations of law firms and professional service firms.
